One Day Away From Loggers Opening Day

Fans got a sneak peek at the 2009 edition of the La Crosse Loggers on Tuesday evening at The Lumber Yard as the Lumbermen played host to the Swedish National Team in a special pre-season exhibition affair.
Team Sweden came out on top 7-5 in front of 1,213 fans one night after knocking off the Brainerd Area Lakes Lunkers 3-2 up in Brainerd.
The Swedes jumped out to a 7-0 lead off of Loggers starter, and pitching coach Justin Ramsey. La Crosse would make it a tight game late with a big five-run eighth inning.
Tony Mueller (Winona State) led the Logger offense with four hits on the night from his lead-off position and Ramsey would go the distance on the mound.
The Loggers open their 2009 regular season on Thursday at Copeland Park when they host the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 7:05 p.m. Click on the logo for more on the Loggers
